Final assingment

Ohhhh! It is the last week for #edcmooc then I post here my final assignment.

I choosed to do a glog. It is the first time that I use it and I think it is really good because you can post files in differents formats and show in one wall all that you want.
In this course I took more attention to the articles which spoke about education and my final assigment is about it. I did a video about it a few years ago, but now I prefer to use some videos that you can find on youtube. Some teachers and students made videos to share their opinion: "we should integrate new technologies and education". I agree with them, and you?

Week 4: Redefining the human

This week I want to share two videos.
This one is about a cleaning robot who is looking for a job. Maybe it is a good utopic future, where humans and robots can live together.

This one is about a technology learning project. They are working in different fields like autistic children or dental education. I think they are on the right way to future education.

Now I'm thinking about my artefact. I have some ideas, but I don't know how  I can organize it, but next Wednesday we will see it.

"Me parece que nos enseñan igual..."

Un vídeo para reflexionar sobre el presente y el futuro de la educación. En concreto de métodos y contenidos. Gran frase: "Me parece que nos enseñan igual que antes, nos educan igual que a mis padres y a mis abuelos y a los padres de mis abuelos, así es difícil estar motivado".

Week 3: Reasserting the human

This week edcmooc encourages us to participate in a image competition. I did one. Look at it.

edcmooc_week_3

I compared Internet with a window. A window which you can observe all the world, not only your close place. You can contact with people around the world. But in Internet you can live more than one life, I mean avatars, sims, secondlife. To some people this virtual life is realer than his real life.

You should choose your window to explore the world. In the picture I choosed coursera, twitter and my real window.

I utilized photocat to edit my image.

Week 2

This week I had only a few time to study. But I did all that I could.
I watched the videos in Synchtube with others students. With it you can see some video at the same time and chatting. It was the first time that I used it. We could see videos together, but I don't know why, I couldn't use chat. However, we used another tools to speak about the videos.
I had time only to read the two articles about education. It is about MOOCs. I think we can't compare MOOCs with a lecture in a University. Because at the University, they are there, because they should be, not all of them, but more than 50 per cent. But in a MOOC, we are there, because we want.
It is a revolution. It allows that people around the world can access to Knowledge that they couldn't in their formal Education. They are interested to learn about something and they choose it, because they don't need to move, they can study when they have time and it is free.
Maybe, when we think if it is free or cheap, it will be bad, we are right. But in this case, I disagree. I opine that the best education that we can access, it isn't the more expensive. When they speak about Universities, I understand that they mix good teachers/education with expensive. But we don't learn only with teachers, we learn with our peers. Sometimes it will be better. MOOCs help us to learn with peers. Teachers organized lectures and we organize our schedule and with who we learn.
I am in four MOOCs. And the feelings are different. One of them was a chaos, but when it was working to me, teachers decided to cancel it. I think it was a mistake. We can learn too from mistakes and it is impossible they thought that they could organize 40.000 persons in one day. Another, I can follow it, because at the moment we don't have a date to do the test and it is attractive to me, because each time it is a different teacher. I have other about same theme. I hate it. Maybe teacher knows a lot about it, but lectures are boring. And finally, #edcmooc. I like this MOOC because I don't need to do a test to demonstrate if I learn something or not. In this course we are a lot of people and we came from different studies and works. We will do something at the end to demonstrate that we learn, but each one learns something different. In others courses maybe I passed a test because I knew it before and somebody failed it because it was the first time that they studied it.
I am in four MOOCs. I learn something different in each one. It is free. I don't learn only from teacher. I do the course when I can. I want to do it. I think it is good.

Week 1: Perspectives on education

To be teacher was my vocation. I studied Tourism and Administration and I worked a few years too before. For me it's hard to think that somebody only wants to win money with “Education”. But it's a real situation. I know it. Then, it's not unusual that somebody wants to win money with Education and Technology.
However, now we can get free software, programs, books,... in Internet. Some teachers and programmers share their work with creative commons or other licenses which allow us to download and to use them for free. It is my utopia. Maybe these are not like software or programs by which you pay a lot of money, but if you get something for free or 5€, what are you waiting? Internet changes the world (we change the world). We should accept this aim.
At the moment I can't think that I am Digital Native, because the first time that I used a computer was when I was 18 years old. But I'm sure that I'm not Digital Immigrants, because I watched TV and I played with my game boy many hours. I know that I can't watch any video or listen more than 5 minutes, if it isn't really good. I take notes in class to solve it, if I write, I listen. I should admit that I can't watch a film, because it's like when you must read a book and you are all the time counting the pages to finish it. If I can't, for a child who is more hours in front of a screen than a teacher, it should be impossible. As a teachers, if we want that ours students learn, we should adapt our methods with the new technologies. It's the way to get the attention of them. I'm sure. I agree with Marc Prensky, you should read it.
But Internet is not accessible in all the world. Some people can't allow to get these free programs. They don't have Internet. They can't buy a computer. They can't access to any computer. They are offline, like my mother, she can, but she doesn't want. And the question is: must they get computers and internet to learn? Yes and No. Yes, because they can get the same good conditions than others, like me. No, they should, but they mustn't. In my opinion, if we impose new technologies to learn, we are bad teachers. It's the best way to this period, but we can't impose our thinking to all the world. If somebody does it, it's because they only want to win money.
